Enterprise Rent-A-Car (Enterprise Rent-A-Car UK Limited in the UK, ERAC Ireland Limited in the Rep. of Ireland) respects the privacy of our applicants. We have implemented this privacy policy to explain to you how we use and protect personal information we may gather from you by means of this Web site (“Privacy Policy”). By using our Web site, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information, as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Web site.

Failing to provide requested information will not inhibit your ability to browse the Web site, but it may prevent you from being able to complete certain transactions or receive certain services from us.

1. Data Security Regulation

1.1 Data collection, handling and use
Enterprise Rent-A-Car (Enterprise Rent-A-Car UK Limited in the UK, ERAC Ireland Limited in the Rep. of Ireland) and its affiliates and subsidiaries (Employer) and our 3rd party contracted employment-related vendor(s) (each, a Vendor) process personal data relating to applicants seeking employment at Employer solely for the purposes of managing the application and recruitment process, and for related human resources purposes.

The Vendor’s relationship with Enterprise is that of an independent contractor, and the Vendor does not serve as the Employer’s agent or employee. However, the Employer will retain control of and responsibility for the use of any personal data you disclose to the Employer or the Vendor.

While each Vendor and the Employer have instituted security precautions to protect the privacy of data you submit, Vendors and the Employer cannot guarantee security or confidentiality against all hackers, other attacks, or other security failures.

The Employer and Vendor will not use or disclose your information to any third party other than in accordance with this privacy statement.

In order that the Employer and Vendor can provide a personalised recruitment and selection service, you will be asked to submit personal information such as your name, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number, along with information relevant to your education, qualifications and experience. Employer and Vendor collect personal data only when you provide it to them, through registration, completion of forms or emails, as part of enquiries or requests and similar situations in which you have chosen to provide the information to them.

When you use the Employer’s Web site, data may be stored for various security purposes through the use of cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, log files and other technologies. This data may include the name of your internet service provider, the Web site that you used to link to the Employer’s Web site, the Web sites that you visit from the Employer’s Web site, your location and your IP-Address (the address which identifies your computer on the internet). This data could possibly lead to your identification, but the Employer does not use it to do so. Particularly, IP addresses are used to administer the Web site and to collect broad demographic information for aggregate use only. The Employer does use the data from time to time for statistical purposes, but does maintain the anonymity of each individual user so that the person cannot be identified.

1.2 Use of cookies
Vendor or Employer may store some information (commonly known as a “cookie”) on your computer when you look at this Web site. This information facilitates your use of the Web site and helps the Vendor and the Employer to provide the best level of service. For example, cookies ensure that you do not need to re-enter details each time you visit the Web site. We don’t use cookies to track personally identifiable information, but we do use them to understand which pages and content are most relevant. Recent legislation means we are now obliged to give you the opportunity to choose whether you are willing to accept cookies from this Web site or not.

1.3 Transmission and processing of personal data use of disclose personal data for the following purposes:

  • recruitment and selection by Employer;
  • for test data by Vendor in connection with their business of helping Employer select qualified job applicants.  As part of this validation research, the data may be processed by the Vendor and disclosed to their employees and professional advisors, including affiliate companies in other countries or locations;
  • for the Vendor to gather data submitted by you and to transmit this data to the Employer for purposes of the Employer’s equal opportunity monitoring;
  • to contact you regarding your application; or
  • for other purposes for which you have given your consent, except where otherwise provided by law.

In submitting personal information through this Web site you agree that this information may be transferred to countries outside of the European Union (“EU”) or of the European Economic Area (“EAA”) by the Vendor and Employer where this is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. By way of example, this may happen if any of Employer or Vendor servers are from time to time located in a country outside of the EU or the EEA or one of our affiliates or subsidiaries are located in other countries.

These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the EU and EEA. In such cases, the Employer and Vendor will ensure that appropriate data privacy and protection measures are in place to require the data processor in that country to maintain protections on the data that are equivalent to those that apply in the United Kingdom and in Ireland.

In addition if you use the Web site while you are outside the EU or EEA, your information may be transferred outside the EU or EEA for the purposes set out in this policy.

Other than the disclosures referred to in this policy, the Employer and the Vendor will not disclose any personal data without your permission unless we are legally entitled or obliged to do so (for example if required to do so by Court Order or the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime).

1.4 Updating your data, right of access and correction
Both the Employer and the Vendor take reasonable steps to ensure that information you provide to them is maintained in an accurate and complete fashion.  You have the right to review and amend any personal data stored in the Employer’s or the Vendor’s system if you believe it may be out of date or incorrect. Particularly, the Employer and Vendor provide you with the ability to examine the personal data you submit as part of the online application process and to make changes by editing, deleting or appending your information on this site. It is your responsibility to review your information and ensure its accuracy.

1.5 Right of cancellation
You have the right at any time to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal data in the future. Just send an e-mail to the address given below (Contacting Us).

1.6 Data retention
Employer and Vendor only retain personal data for as long as is necessary for them to render a service you have requested or to which you have given your consent, except where otherwise provided by law (e.g. in connection with pending litigation). Records of unsuccessful applications are retained by the Vendor and Employer for a period of one year – your consent presumed.

Employer adheres to the Safe Harbour framework developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce in coordination with the European Commission.

2. Terms of Use
When you access this Web site, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by the terms described herein. If you do not agree to the terms discussed here, you should exit this site now.

2.1 General responsibilities of users
You are committing to legitimate use the online application process. You will not spread any penal contents and not violate the rights of others. Especially forbidden is the spread of youth endangering, pornographic, extremist and racist content, virus attacks and the abuse of the application to interfere security systems of an external network, host or account.

You need to keep the password secret and ensure the proper use of it.

2.2 Responsibility
You are responsible for any content you are putting on the online application system.

You commit to secure the online application user data to prevent the unauthorised use of others. The user releases Employer and Vendor from all claims resulting of unauthorised use of the online application user data or other harmful acts of the user or a third party, when the user is at fault.

2.3 Violation of terms of use
Employer has the right to delete any illegal content (i.e. content, which infringes upon legal or magisterial prohibition or against morality) without prior notice to the user. In these cases Employer and Vendor reserve the right to proscribe you for a temporary or unlimited period of time. In this case no claim for refund will be created.

4. Limitation of liability/disclaimer of warranties 
While the Employer and Vendors attempt to provide accurate information on this Web site, they assume no responsibility for accuracy. The Employer and/or Vendor may change the information on the site, or the jobs, products, services, or other offers mentioned, at any time without notice.

While this Web site may contain links to third party Web sites, the Employer and Vendor are not responsible for the content of any linked sites. The Employer and Vendor provide these links as a convenience and do not endorse the companies or contents of any linked sites.
